Physical Education
Physical Education and competitive sport play a vital role in the physical, mental and emotional development of our children.
We aim to promote physical skill, physical development and a knowledge of the body in action. A positive attitude towards an active and healthy lifestyle is encouraged, with children having the opportunity to partake in physical activity in PE sessions, as part of learning in other subject areas, at break and lunch times and in after school clubs.
All children are involved in dance, games, mindfulness and gymnastic and outdoor adventurous activities. These areas are not only covered throughout our curriculum but are incorporated during events such as ‘Give Me Five Week’. Physical Education is regularly taken out of school in the form of an educational visit where children partake in abseiling, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, raft building and so much more. Swimming is part of the programme for children in Years 3, 4 and 5.
